Just read all the Star Wars Clone Wars Comics In Order

Wow, what an experience. I just read Republic 49-77 along with the obsession and general greivous mini series, and Jedi: Mace Windu, Shaak Ti, Aalya Secura, Dooku, and Yoda, along with a few issues of star wars tales that had clone wars stories. I have to say, it really was an amazing experience.

The ebb and flow of the vos/secura arc stands out a lot better when you read it all in order like that. Anakin's slow slip toward the dark side is also a bit more apparent, along with the reason he is considered a hero of the clone wars.

I didn't just do this for fun, however. It was part of my research for an uncoming Fandom Comics project that hasn't been announced yet. Look for announcements sometime in the next month or two!

Wow! That seems like quite a feat. How long ago did you start? And how did you get your hands on so many comics? I've found several more but they still feel rare around here.

I'm also glad to see that you do your research so that the fans reading you work can easily fit it into their own Star Wars universe without worrying about conflictions.

Yeah im a big research guy. I have the entire run of dark horse and marvel star wars comics, along with all the novels and novellas. It only took me two nights of light reading to get through all the comics in order.

It would probably take me much longer then that. I've seen like 5 of those big Clone Wars comic compialation books. I think one would take me 2 nights to get through. I like to really give Graphic Novels a thorough read through so I don't forget their contents and because I find them very enjoyable that way.

I do that but only read for one night about once a week. I am a very busy man. (Hey, the dog won't play with himself.....that much.)
Wow, I get 256 characters. I'm really gonna put them to good use:

Uhh......

Wow, that certainly was quite a feat. Can’t wait to hear more about the project you’re working on for all this research.

I did that before I read 76 and 77, and it was beautiful! I was gonna do the books as well but thought it would distrupt the flow. Great storyline!

Any thoughts now that they're all out in trade paperback? And how do you like Dark Times?

To be honest dark times is beautiful to look at, but Dass Jennir doesnt really do anything for me, as a character. All I look forward to with this series is Vader chopping Jennir down. Im not saying the comic isnt very well executed, but Im much more interested in Tholme, Villie, Vos, Korto and his chick. Id rather have a series about them done this well. There are a lot of other surviving Jedi I am much more interested in seeing meet their end at Vader's hands. Empatojayos Brand would be interesting, we know he fights with Vader and gets jacked up and escapes. Seeing that would have been cooler than Dass Jennir, who just doesnt do it for me. Loved Purge though, and Kai Huddorra from the same intial arc as Dass Jennir.

Actually, Empatojayos Brand (who probably stands out as one of the Ultimate Pimps of the SWEU) had somehow slipped my mind as to potential Dark Times heroes! You're totally right. plus they never say WHEN exactly Vader drops the hammer on him, so he could be fighting the darkness for easily 10 years before he becomes king of the Ganathans. Sweet. I think a campaign arc just wrote itself.

As to Kai Hudorra... I really just wanted to punch him in the face. For a father figure, he's a bigger deadbeat dad (or equivalent) than Worf is on Star Trek. Using the force for profit WHILE ignoring the proliferation of the iron grip of the Sith? OUCH. That'll rough up yer dark side point total so bad, it'd give Freedon Nadd a concussion.

RE: Dass Jennir: I yawned myself into a coma in his intro appearances, but I must say, he's grown on me a lot over the first three issues. He makes a comfortably bland POV character, though.

I'm pretty sure Ostrander and Duursema intended the last issue to be "They live happily ever after except for Aayla" and would be reluctant to have them poke their heads out of their hidey-hole just in case Lucas decides to have Vader lop 'em off on a whim. But hey, Quinlan's cool. He lays it on thick, but not too thick.

I'd like to see more early Tholme/Quinlan adventures, maybe alongside Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan. There's a pretty big gap between Stark Hyperspace War and Phantom Menace, and by Jove, it screams out to be exploited.
